Vector Magic
I got an e-mail notifying me that Vector Magic is no longer hosted at Stanford, instead living at vectormagic.com. It is also moving to a pay-per-vector online service and eventually a desktop application in order to help pay for their file hosting. I didn’t expect it to stay free forever. It’s awesome. I used Vector Magic to quickly convert sketches so I could open them as vectors...

Weekend plans: finish Oscar pool predication webpage (nobody else can enter, it is going to mess up my formatting!) watch all the Best Picture nominees, some for the second time (yes, I am offended by the blog headline) watch the Oscars and update Oscar pool website with winners. As you can see, I’ll be very busy without much of it mattering minutes after being completed.

I don’t even try to replicate real motion in the few, short animated things I’ve worked on. Right now I’m sort of working on animating a piece of video I have, but animating isn’t even the right word. I’m isolating one figure in each frame and turning it into a silhouette. The goal of this process is to replicate realistic motion by literally tracing it. ...
