Tropical Toxic’s Humana Festival Theater Poster
I really like this image and I always enjoy seeing the process. The attempt to incorporate the idea of a playwright’s vision turning into an actual theatrical production in the illustration is immediately recognizable. The typed page turning into the stage as seen through the curtain is subtle. The posture of the writer at the typewriter makes it look as though he is pulling apart the curtain to peek out onto the stage. Everything works.
I have trouble abandoning concepts. Often I opt instead to drive myself crazy with an idea that doesn’t translate.
I need to draw more.
