larr·y king
–noun
- a piece of clothing (suspender, sleeve, strap) worn off the shoulder as a style, accident, or both.
The above image is from this episode of Larry King Live when Mr. King was interviewing Paul, Ringo, Yoko, and Olivia while they were promoting Love. It appears Larry was having trouble with his suspenders throughout this episode. This wayward fastner fell immediately after Larry had pulled it back up onto his shoulder (3:40 into the clip).
I was reminded of it while watching a video recommended by last.fm. I don’t want to get too off topic, but I think it’s awesome that you can turn scrobbling on/off with videos that are on last.fm. I don’t know if that’s a new feature they rolled out with the redesign, but I like it.
Anyway, Leona Naess briefly sports a larry king in her video for Charm Attack. I know what you are thinking. Yes, the video did precede this episode of Larry King Live, but who is to say it didn’t happen to Larry before? Really, how long has he been wearing suspenders? Even if this was the first occurrence, Larry brought it to a national audience and the fallen suspender is a catch-all for clothing worn off the shoulder.
Please share other larry kings.
